I know everyone has been talking about Neo's path and the matrix within the matrix but I would like to know why the machines have not yet been able to clear the sky. If this was done then there would be no need for humans and thus there would be no matrix. If I am wrong here then please do comment but if what I understand is correct then when the humans scorched the sky the machines were forced to use humans for energy and not solar power.
I would have thought it would have been easier to try and clear the sky than to construct a matrix and have to harvest humans.
It is not as if the machines aren't able to fly. They are definitely intelligent enough to figure out how to do it.
Is it maybe the static electricity created by the thunderclouds that would fry any machines trying to enter it. Maybe I'm way off but then again everyones opinion should be heard.
