The best villain of all time?

Who is the best villain of all time?hmmm?Agent smith?Darth vader?sephiroth?the list is endless,my personal favourite is the clown prince of crime himself -JOKER,he's got an excellent sense of humour (who doesn't find a little light hearted murder funny?)he's got a great fashion sense-a purple and orange suit with an acid shooting flower,priceless,and yet we can never get enough of the crazy clown,so people who do you think is worthy of the title of the best villain of all time?post you're choices and reasons why.

hmmm,maybe but moses really lacks that which makes a true villain,he showed us those commandments thinking he was doing good!!!
Plus he pretty much lacks notable intelligence,style,powers(well he does have power but they are god given) so he's more of a good guy who inadvertantly did evil albeit great evil,nice try though.

Smith gets un-calm and cool and collected at the end of Revolutions; that's one thing that spoiled the movie, that and the incredible lack of kung fu. (The super burly brawl was cool, though.)

Right,i've read harry potter and found voldemort about as scary as a hamtser armed with a tooth pick,Smith if you'll remember loses it in matrix when he's interogating morpheus,now onto doctor octopus,he's a normal guy with 6 super powerful robotic arms,he's not outstandingly evil at all and last but not least,venom..ahhhh,now on numerous occasions he has HELPED spiderman and he has never killed a super hero while joker killed robin and crippled batgirl leaving her wheel chair bound for life,in his first few apperances he killed 24 people and all with out powers or robots or any special gadgets,Joker has killed hundreds up onhundreds of people in his career and even taken on the likes of wonder women in the past and survived,his been subjected to the electic chair and survived ,once he even poisoned the UN and was only stopped by the combined efforts of superman and batman and on top of all this Joker has one hot girlfriend the lovely and insane-harley quinn

Yeah doc ock does have four arms...a grevious error on my part,i apolgise,now darth vader hey?some people consider him to be the ultimate bad guy,but the way i look at it is vader is a middle aged man with breathing problems who has issues with his son,darth vader is indeed a great villain but i'm afraid to me he only ranks third with Mistah J 1st and smith close second,also vader is easily killed take off the mask,he's dea and he gets killed mainly because he gets shocked by the emperor's force lightening now as i've already stated joker has survived the electric chair,he's been shot and survived,he's been blown up and survived,he's been set on fire and survived,joker is as hard to get rid of as my forth favourite villain jason (freddy is gaaaaay),carnage is also an excellant villain and waaaaay superior to venom,he's beaten venom in battle numerous times also,so for me,joker is still in the lead here.

Tut tut,your reasoning is flawed!!!The joker is the worlds first fully functioning artistic clown,ivy is good,but she's not evil,shes shown kindness time and time again(during no mans land she took in orphans and protected them) while joker is constantly evil(see "the killing joke") and yet he has a tragic past as well,you'd much rather run into ivy in a dark alley then the joker,coz ivy may kill you but the joker will completely fuck with your mind THEN kill you.

Meh,if the joker really wants to kill you,your dead,no two ways about it,he delights in messing with batman and playing games with him,i mean look at harley, joker constantly tries to kill her but he never actually kills her,why?because he doesn't want to,because he needs her just as he needs batman,joker once thought he had killed batman(see "going sane") and he had surgery to makes his face normal,he got a nice appartment and got a girlfriend and a job,he was normal but batman had just been lying low and returned to capture the joker,upon learning batman wasn't dead joker injected him self with his toxin turning back into the joker,you see?without batman the joker doesn't exist,but without joker i believe batman could't exist,they are like ying-yang,polar opposites but attached,destined to the same fate,therefore joker is the best!

I see your point RA and agree with you that the Joker is definately a force to be rekon'd with, I still don't agree that he is the best villian. If he and Batman need eachother as you say then that would make them more balanced or equal. We are talking about villians though and Batman is I guess considered a hero. I think that all of them have some villianous qualities in them. It takes a killer sometimes to catch a killer. I can't honestly believe that I am debating with you over a comic book either. This is what makes me laugh. I admit that I do not read comics much at all.

Darth vader is good,but not the best,he has redeeming qualities,he becomes good in the end while the Joker is a psychotic fucked up madman,he has no redeeming qualities,he's alway been 100% evil.
