Chapter I
The sun burned through the clear sky down upon the odd land. The vegetation here clashed horribly, the trees mixed strangely with the dried and withered shrubs along the twisting dirt road off into the distance as far as the eye can see. Among all of this beauty, however, was one dirty traveler seated upon a scraggely horse. He trotted along slowly, pausing only once to check a broken and faded sign reading "Chang An: 20 Miles". This was how Sun Jian first came to the Wu territories.
Chang An was a small village, consisting of a few houses and an inn, and, like the rest of the Wu territories, completely ruled by various groups of Bandits. It was one year ago that Sun Jian first heard of these bandits, ruling the people with an iron fist and taking what they need. He was even more shocked to hear that the Han Dynasty was doing nothing to stop these people. Without any hesitation, he left his cushioned merchant life and went down to save these people. Trotting through the town, he tried to ignore the people along the sides of the road yelling at him to buy their overpriced produce. But, it was the only way they could survive, Sun Jian thought with a sigh. He tied his horse to the rail outside of the bar. He needed a pick me up, badly. His red silk robes announced to the world he was a merchant, but Sun Jian had also attatched a sword to his waist, announcing he was a warrior. Clean shaven and tan skinned, Sun Jian looked like an overgrown boy than a warrior though. Stepping inside the bar, he found all the seats to be taken by well nourished men holding a various weapons, basically holding a big sign saying "I am a Bandit". Sun Jian took a seat next to a man holding a book. Sun Jian looked at the man, who glanced back with bloodshot eyes.
"Hello. My name is Sun Jian... You are...?" He asked politely. The man just stared at him, blinking one eye at a time.
"... Are you a strategist...?" He said, flipping through his book, which consisted of very simple attack and defend strategies, but strategies none the less. The strategist brightened up.
"You like my plans?" He asked, slightly slurred.
"Yes, my name is Sun Jian, I am here to purge the land of bandits."
"I shall assist you. I am a strategist, my name is Han Dang."
