Neo, if you're out there I could use a little help

UnBornRace

It comes to a very long discussion when some people ask: How did Neo and the castle he was in move 200 miles away into the mountains just because the Merovingian closed the door and Neo didn't make it?
The answer is simple: There was a code made for the castle that Neo was in and apparently when Neo opened the door the code was pasted into another location which was outside the Core Newtwork.

Duh.

I realized the code was changed right after this happened.
DonDaddy

Its pretty much the only explination for it. Not to mention we see it happen a couple of times. I didnt know this was even an issue.
UnBornRace

It is at the end of Matrix Revolutions because Neo dies because the Matrix is hacked and the Sentinels could only put him in; they could not get him out.
AlmightyOne

Yes true and we all know that so what is it your trying to tell us other then what we already know...

come on we're waiting
Apollo440

Did you just say what Seraph tells everyone in the movie? that with the right key doors can be used as portals to cross distances within the Matrix? or did you just add on a lot that doesn't need to be there
Hades55

Code was changed Neo was still in the one code as the rest changed back to its normal location.
The_Traveler

I've never thought of it as a matter of changing code around Neo, or anything. To me, I saw it as the chateu always and forever being that far away, it never moved anywhere, it's just that the rest of them didnt know that's where they were, because they hadn't quite gotten their heads around the whole backdoor thing yet. If im not mistaken I believe Persephone starts the whole thing by leading them back through the kitchen of the restaurant or something, and then closing two doors, then using a backdoor access key she reopens them into the chateu (which is up in the mountains). And takes them to the keymaster, who in his escape opens another backdoor returning them out into the city. But the Twins close it before Neo can get there in time and since you need a key to open a door to a place other than it's pre-programmed destination, it opened to the mountains again when he busted through, which is where the chateu always was.

So they go from city, through back door to the mountains, then from mountains use another backdoor back to the city, but close that backdoor before Neo can get to it, and he's stuck in the mountains while they are in the city. He never got teleported or anything crazy like that.
Apollo440

Exactly, in the simplest terms the Door opens one way a 'normal' or 'traditional' way, using the speical keys that the Keymaker uses it opens a door a different way where it folds the space between the two places to the width of a doorwhen the door closes the space unfolds, of course it doesn't actually fold its just a litteral term

my worry is what if someone was using the door that you we're trying to get to?
The_Traveler

Probably just wouldn't work. They're in a program, so it'd be like trying to access a website with too much traffic or when you try to delete a file that's being used by another program. It'd just be temporarily unavailable, until the door of the new location was closed. The one they're using the key on probably just won't open until the other one is ready. But strange things have been known to happen in the matrix, they could just materialize right there in the new door way to the total befuddlement of the persons using that doorway.
Hades55

Well that makes sense. I need to rewatch all the movies.
Neo's_Son

The Keys open doors into secret places or other location. Part of what you are saying is true. But if you watch it agian there is a good explination of what happened.
Unjust_shadow

8: Yea the keys leading to other places makes sence, I need to re-watch the movies also.
Anomolous

Remember that the Merovingian is a communications program. He controls all the old, hidden I/O pathways within the matrix. Ports can be routed to any "location" with proper commands from the primary program. Merv's whole "underground kingdom" is based on the fact that he has this ability. He is a communication program that no longer had a purpose within the beginnings of the matrix. So, he found another purpose for his abilities. Of course, his path correlates to his principle of cause and effect.
The One (1)

The code must have been tamed with as Link soundn't see them
Hades55

So in a simple way of saying it its like a web address then by simply changing a small portion like".com" to ".org" [or something] the location changes.
Apollo440

I don't watch Stargate myself but from what i've seen of it (which is trailers) it works the same way.

When its acitive it can lead you to another world or place, when its not active its just like walking through a large hole, same with the doors when they are active they take you to the Merovingians Castle or whatever the door goes, when they are not active they work like normal doors leading you from one room to another
Hades55

Well with the Stargate (watched it sometimes) they have a ring and put a "code" in. When the code is right they travel to different dimensions. If not active it is a hole. So yeah mostly.

The key is the "code changer" and the "hole" is the door.
Apollo440

Exactly the Key changes the door making it a portal to a different place in the Matrix, i do wonder though does that mean ever single door in the Matrix leads to a hidden door?
