When it comes friday, saturday night or whenever where do you like to go?
Personally ive dabbled a little bit into it all. It usually ends up being something live though when we just wanna hang out. But when the goal is to just get fucked up the techno clubs are it, and im not even all that into techno but you're under the influence(alcohol or other :)) it doesnt matter a whole lot.
On a night out on the town, me and my friends usually follow the same plan. We start at the Hotel Australia (The Aussie) at about 10 o'clock. The Aussie always has great bands and a good mix in the crowd on Saturday nights. Plus cheapish drinks. The Aussie shuts at 1am, so thats when we head over the Flanagans Bar (Flanies). Flanies has ok bands, but sometimes they are awful. Like this weekend, the band was playing Atomic Kitten and Shania Twain! So we left pretty quick. But other weekends the bands are good. After Flanies we usually end up at Station One, one of the local nightclubs. They play a good mix of music there, a bit of pop, bit of rap. One of the bad things about it though is that there can be heaps of fights there. The Aussie, Flanies and Station One are all within staggering distance of each other, which is another bonus. We sometimes go to Fontana Bar, which is alos close to the other pubs, but it costs five bucks to get in after midnight. Thats five bucks that could buy a drink! If you are smart, you go there before 12, get in for free and get a stamp on your hand that lets you in again later on.
There are a few other pubs and clubs where I live, but we dont go to them because the Yahoo Bar is full of hippies and druggies, the Fullhouse is closed down, the GV hotel is too far to walk to, the Shepparton Hotel is just crap, and all the teachers go to the Terminus Hotel.
Thursday night is my night out each week, its down to the albion in parramatta. since i dont drink anymore its a sober night for me so i just try to enjoy the local bands that start at 10pm. its a mostly alternative venue so mostly metal bands play there... but its still good for a bit of fun. too bad i get home around 12pm because of work the next day. but thats life at the moment
I'm usually working Friday and Saturday nights, but get out at 11 at the latest, so that means the night is young. Around my house, although there's bars all around, and clubs in Frisco and Oakland, and there's places to catch all kinds of local bands and live music in Berkeley as well as the aforementioned cities, I usually just call up my boys and see what's happening. Since they're usually working, too, we might go out to eat after we all get off or something. The club scene over here is relatively popular, but from the clubs I've been to, sucks. There's almost always a cover unless you've got tits, which I don't, and the music they play is the same shit that's on the radio. If I wanted to listen to shitty music around people I don't know or care about, well, I wouldn't want to, so I stay away from the clubs. So how do I party? Well, the last 4 weekends I've been going up to Davis and getting drunk with my next year's housemates and testing out my new camcorder, which is no doubt going to get me arrested several times next year. Being a college student on a college budget, I buy my liquor in bulk and drink at home. Why? 1. Because I can't afford drinks at bars and restaurants, b. Because I like to drink around people I know, and III. Becuase I'm an alcoholic. I only drink if I'm alone or with somebody, so if I'm not drinking alone, I figure I might as well drink around people I know at a price I can afford. Plus, I get in too many fights at the clubs.
I'm not really down wid clubs n e mo'. Out-door live experiences are mo' ma scene, nowadayZ...Mo' real, kno' wha I'm sayin...
Taipei got an M.O.S. now dough...Dat place is dope an' all, but a little too commercial, if yo' know wha' I'm sayin...Fine-ass hos, dough...
Nah, I don' kno' wha' I'm talkin' like dis either...
I'm not the outgoing type. I sometimes (once a month) go to the Irish Pub John Mullins, where I usually have a pint of Murphy's Irish Red and a couple of shots of tequila, wodka and whiskey with my friend from highschool, or I go to the "Celebration" or some other 'dance'-cafes in me hometown with some friends from college. I prefer the pub, but sadly, my college friends are more mainstream kind of types, and don't appreciate that kind of thing.

There is a bar here called the Balcany Bar that sits on Magazine Street. There is usually a good crowd (read people I dont hate) there on the weekends. They have 70 beers on tap including Guinness and anything else you would want to drink. These days that is pretty much the only place I go to.
Over the years I've been going to a lot of underground Goth clubs here, and my favorite is called 'The Party'. It was origionally and old car park, and it resides under a gay club on the second floor, and a top 25 music club (kiddy bar) on the first floor. We get in free due to my mate is married to the owner, and we get to hear whatever we want and get free drinks. So I never really go anywhere else now. And we go once every month.
I tend to like the little hole in the wall kind of bars. I don't like a lot of stupid powerdrinking kids around, like they tend to have around my area at most of the dance clubs here. There is a place here called FourPlay. My friend owns it and he is always very generous with the booze and a good laugh. It has all you need to have a good time there. Music, pool tabels, dart boards, live bands on occasion, great bar staff, and the bouncers don't take any shit so, If someone gets out of line, It is foot to ass and face to pavement. My kind of place.
Found a new plae to hang from time to time when i dont feel like going to Magazine St. J&K is a nice little dive bar located just down the street from base. Most of the time its pretty slow in there so its easy to relax. They have rwo pool tables and some poker machines (those gambling machine are just about everywhere down here) and a few dart boards. No live bands but a juke box with a pretty good selection.
Well, on the weekend, me and my mates went on a pub crawl for a birthday party - with a twist. We had to dress in school uniform. Was a good night, with plenty of laughs and good bands. My friends cousins band was playing that night so we got plenty of shoutouts. And I got a free mix CD from the Fontana Bar, which I'm not gonna knock back. Good stuff.
Sounds like a good time was had by all Splint. Good stuff.
There is another little place here that, I found in my rescent jaunt to the lake for Memorial Day weekend. It is a nice place right off the lake so, You can dock your boat and take your pic of outside bar area or inside bar area. My companions and I chose the outside location. It has a nice view of the lake and depending on when you go (the weekends), It has live bands. The bar was well stocked with my fav. booze and a wide selection of both foreign and domestic beers as well. It is a good damn thing I was not on boat detail because, Nothin says don't drive your boat back to the marina like getting into a shot contest with your buds.lol I could not resist. I hate to be dared.
