New Matrix Video Game?

What's this I've been hearing about a game in part created
by the Wachowski brothers that's based on The Matrix?

That should be one hell of a game! Anyone hear anything
about it???

yeah, someone mentioned that Persephone is one of the main chars in it. I don't know more than what that person said.

I don't know if you'll be able to find it but i believe that ET did a special on the game that was being made. i only caught a clip of the segment the showed but it was awsome looking

Yup, Shiny Entertainment is working closely with Larry and Andy on the game Enter the Matrix. It looks, in short, unbelievable. Master Yuen Wo Ping and his wire team did motion capture for this game, and there are over 1,000 kung fu moves (according the www.enterthematrixgame.com)!!! You can't play as Persephone, but you choose between two other new characters: Niobe, who does all of the actual driving in vehicle sequences, or Ghost (not sure if he's in Reloaded or not), who handles weapons in vehicle sequences (which include cars in the Matrix, shooting at Agents or police, and piloting the Osiris (I'm not sure if its the Osiris, but it's the fastest ship in the rebel fleet) through clouds of Sentinels. Finally, to round out your crew, Sparks is your operator. You cannot play as him, be he's your link to the real world.
The Wachowskis recorded live video specfically for the game, and this footage will not be seen anywhere else. They wrote and directed it independently of any other movies, so it has a story of its own that ties Reloaded with either Revolutions of the original, I'm not sure which. I've seen screenshots of fights between your charcter and regular patrolmen, SWAT teams, Asian gangsters, and Agent Smith (there are other Agents in the game, though).

The game is set for release 5.15.03, same as the movie. I'm going to cancel anything I ahve going that day, go see the movie, then buy the game for PC right after!!!

Hmm....I just read IGN's latest preview and they said that the preview build they played is just...average. However, it was an incomplete version, and it was on PS2, so hopefully the XBox/PC versions will be better.

Also, I learned that if you play as Niobe, you can't drive. Bummer. Whoever you play as, the other charcter takes the wheel. Odd, considering Niobe is the Pilot of the hovercraft crew (Her, Ghost, and Sparks).

Hope it doesn't turn out like a Max Payne rip-off. I just got a couple of Matrix mods for Max Payne. One has infinite bullet time, dual MP5K (from the lobby), the actual lobby, and Propellerhead's 'Spybreak' as the bullet time music. The other one has more new weapons, but the only ones from the Matrix are the KG9 and Uzi. This one has the Construct, which attaches to three rooms of ringing phones. Each room is for one part of the story, and each phone links to a level. Plus, this one also has in-air cartwheels as the side-to-side shootdodge and a flip as the front or back shootdodge (flip with you back to the enemy, head tot heg round, and shooting your weapons behind you).

Ok, last post here! I feel like I'm rambling :D . I'm just going to post a few cool screenies. Keep in mind that these are all PS2, so the graphics are, well...bad.

Yeah i herd that the new game has around 200 min. of cinematical breaks they talk bout' it in the december 2002 Game Informer check it out it has great details-half&half

I've heard a rumor that u can type codes into the game when ur going to the matrix and it will be lyk giving ur self upgrades so it won't be lyk cheating-H&h

idont know, the game trailer and stuff looks like its gonna be like terminator - dawn of fate, 10 short levels, with a crashed camera... Hopefully its not gonna be so...

15th but there is no word on when the computer version

yeah the game is called "enter the matrix" and it is going to be released on May 15 along with the movie. you can pre-order it at www.bestbuy.com

@topic: I played the Demo, its ok so far

The game is written and directed by the Wachowski brothers, and the best place to get info. on it is www.enterthmatrix.com. They have pretty much anything thing you would want to know about it on there, and there is also a lot of really cool screenshots too.
A demo....There's a demo!?! Oh well, doesn't matter now, today is Monday the 12th, and it comes out Thhursday the 15th, so I don't have long to wait.

Actually, www.enterthematrixgame.com (thanks sephiroth) does exist, and it is a great site.

...the cheat system in EtM is like "hacking" the matrix. You can learn new attacks, give yourself weapons, etc...

sounds like the game needs a serious graphics card to run well. A lot of pc owners are gonna need to shell out some dough to play well. I'm running a mac right now so if I even ever see the game, I'll post but I will probably own a pc before it comes out on mac

I have the game for Xbox and it is bad

I'm getting a new laptop soon and right now all I knoe is that the first game I get is definately enter the matrix

well:
the movement is nowere near fluid in 'enter the matrix'
the texture mapping and Pixel size does'nt do justice to an XBox
Polygon's, lets just say you can count them on your fingers and toes.

I havent seen the ps2 or PC versions but i'll bet the ps2 is worse and the PC is not much better.
Due to the fact that they're all ports of each other.

the storyline should be a real gem tho(look who wrote it) and that in my mind will make up for a significant part of it's poor graphics.
(mind you i'm currently playing Final Fantasy II,Wicked Storyline graphics you can live with)

but then the big drawcard for the game will probaly be the combat system, there's some nice moves that look quite good but it'll always have the fake look of 'pro wrestling'
