Do you watch it in a factual, science fiction way, or do you watch it in a philosophical manner? I see allusion to the way we are in "real life", about how the "real" Matrix could be the media and how they control what our perception of reality is, or how we are slaves to machines (computers) and how they control what we think. It may not be as literal as computers harvesting bodies, but I think there are a lot of "truths" to the movie in that sense.
That's why the Matrix is a deep movie to me. I just wonder with all of the discussion of semantics or reasons for certain events, that people don't watch the movie from a more philosophical perspective.
