Matrixism a religion of the matrix

MKultra

If you haven't heard already some people have created a religion out of the Matrix movies. They call it matrixism and it has some pretty interesting beliefs. Luckily for those who don't like to read the whole religion is summed up in one very short web page at http://www.matrixism.org

I'm a believer so I am biased but it should at least generate some lively debate ;)

Okay then. If you believe in the Matrixism. Do you believe in all of the different beliefs that it was based on? Or do you just believe in Neo being the one?

I believe in the ancient mystic path that the Matrix is all about.

Remember "The path of the One is made by the many."

OK, fair enough but I'm afraid some Indian dude got there first about 1000 years ago. I cant remember the name of it now but this religion believes in this idea of a "Matrix" and that someday a Chosen One will free us all.

I'm fine if this is a 'fictitious religion' but how can people believe in what is so obviously a fiction created by Warner Brothers?

People sometimes ask me whether I 'think I am in the Matrix'.
I'll admit, the movie has made me think deeply about a lot of things, but chances that there is a real Nebuchadnezzar and Zion are pretty slim because of probability.

That said, perhaps the reality behind our lives is in ways similar.

A reality a lot more likely than that depicted in 'The Matrix' is that we could all be part of an elaborate computer simulation. In a civilisation where technology is so advanced and accessible (like perhaps humans in 200 years), it is likely that computer simulations of living populations are run all the time to test environmental, social, political, etc situations. If on average across the universe, the number of total simulated humans outnumber the actual humans, chances are pretty high that you are part of one of these simulations yourself. Let us hope that our simulation is not a game...

Following up on what I said in my previous post, a website full of interesting articles on the subject of simulated reality can be found at www.simulation-argument.com

hahah... thats kinda cool, what a neato website, i wonder if theyd let me use mushrooms instead of mescaline? pfff its kinda bullocks but... i mean... waht do i mean?

eh. It seems they almost got it right except for the slight problem that they included the belief in the one. Everything in there is what i thought it would be except for that. Oh well, still. No religion is perfect.
