seems like the republicans where too chicken to fight in a war
NMN

How does that make them chicken? I don't want to fight in a war, does that make me a chicken?

I don't get how people like to label others for their choices in life. I mean, is it your life? No, most certainly not. So what if many Republicans didn't fight in Vietnam. Vietnam was a horrible conflict. If you've seen the movies that portray it, I wouldn't want to go there either. It just so happens that many military personnel end up becoming Democrats, because it might have fit their ideals about politics.

All in all, who gives a fuck what others do with their lives? In reality, there are a few things in your life that are affected by politics. So the only person you should be worried about is yourself.
freeyourmind

That's strange. I thought the democrats were the ones opposed to Vietnam... are you sure this list is truthful?
In any case, like NMN said, this means absolutely nothing.
Freddy Krueger

oke i shoudn't of said chicken. but it's weird the republicans are always talking about being allowed to have a gun and supporting war.

but none of them served in a war (oke i know the vietnam war whas terrible even worse then WII) and the democrats that are mostly against wars, they did serve in a war

FYM, i founded this on a other forum. someone posted it there, so don't know his source.
HomoUniversalis

In Europe, people vote for an idea, a way of government. They do not vote for people. Whether or not people have been in the military is here completely irrelevant. We are more interested in the ideology of that person.

Also, not all Republicans and not all Democrats are that list, meaning that there were democrats who stayed home, and that there were republicans who did military duty. Also, Arnold had good reason for going AWOL, and I know of some others on that list having good reason for not going into service.
