Due to a horrible streak of boredom today, and a hint of inspiration from NMN, I give you: A Taste Of Wisconsin. Sounds exciting, right? Of course it doesn’t. It’s about Wisconsin. What good ever came out of Wisconsin? Nothing. I shall start with a tour of my home, and will later add more of the craptacular town in which I reside. So strap on your seat belts and keep your hands in the vehicle at all times. There’s some crazy shit ahead.
Firstly, we must get ourselves situated. Where are we talking about, exactly? We’ll start here: The United States. Excuse the watermarks. Mapquest has failed me.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/america.jpg
And now, a closer look. Notice the farmland, the vast, vast amounts of farmland. It's ridiculous.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/cbf8995d.jpg
Yet an even clooooser look. I bet you’d never guess the circled house is mine.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/home.jpg
And now to look inside the home. We shall start at where I’m sitting right now: In front of a computer monitor.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_006.jpg
To the left of the monitor, we have a conversation between NMN and I. Interesting, eh? They’re always informative and very philosophical.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P6300001.jpg
Here I sit, for hours on end, writing stupid shit like this.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_019.jpg
A slight detour, just for UT’s sake. You truly need one of these, UT. It’s a night and day difference between broadband and dial-up.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_040.jpg
Turning to the left in my chair, one can view our living room.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_024.jpg
And a turn in the opposite direction reveals one of the most important areas of the house: The kitchen. As I’m a big fan of food, the kitchen is one of my favorites.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_025.jpg
Directly behind me lies the rest of the kitchen. Not very exciting.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_026.jpg
Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining room. Everything BUT food goes in this room. I think we’ve eaten in it 6, maybe 7 times. Oh well, while the mother is out grocery shopping I’m living it up eating a cookie in the room. Yeah, I’m a rebel.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_032.jpg
Here we have the front room, off of the dining room. That couch is great for sleeping on.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_031.jpg
If you continue scrolling down, you’ll be forced to follow me upstairs. Up we go.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/eecbe00d.jpg
This would be my room. Everything is cast a strew. The comforter is in the wash, so the bed is bare. You can all now successfully threaten me by saying, “I know where you sleep.” Go ahead and say it. Bastards.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_028.jpg
Here be my pathetic, and utterly nerd-like, DVD collection. The bottles are some old liquor bottles from my Uncle’s bar. One is from the 1910’s I believe. Cool stuff. Approved by the king and queen of Scotland, too.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_023.jpg
My window and plywood board directly across from my bed. I’m thinking of making a dart board on the boarded up window there.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_017.jpg
This is why the window is boarded up - A roof was somehow plopped in front of it.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_018.jpg
It is at this time that I shall take a slight detour. Hat.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_014.jpg
No hat.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_001.jpg
Hat.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_015.jpg
No hat.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_002.jpg
Hat!
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_016.jpg
Right, back to our normally scheduled route then. One side of the hallway outside of my room leads to me brothers’ room. We will not venture into that neck of the woods. It’s hazardous to our health.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_003.jpg
And the opposing side of the hallway. To the left is my sister’s room. It’s far too pink to enter. Straight ahead, in the middle, is my parent’s room. To the right is a bathroom. Oh, and the baby buggy is mine.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_030.jpg
Down to the basement we go. Come on now, don’t be afraid. Nothing down there will bite you… Too hard.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_033.jpg
Here we are. We just began to finish the basement. Just began to finish. I like that. Anyhoo, check out my wicked basketball skills.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_035.jpg
Off we go to the garage now. As you can see, the vette hogs all the garage space. Look past the car though, and you will notice a great deal of things. For instance, the deer, circled in red. Is that not the gheyest thing you’ve ever laid your eyes upon? I tell my mom that every year, yet she always sticks it outside each winter. It needs to be doused in kerosene and lit up.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_036.jpg
Let us now make some lunch and tour the outside a bit. Here’s the only thing that I cook with: The grill.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_012.jpg
Here’s me at work. Good times. Don't mind the jungle to the left.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_013.jpg
As the burgers cook, let us occupy ourselves with some wholesome Wisconsin heritage: Cheese. Mozzarella, at that.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_008.jpg
Cheddar! It's fancy.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_009.jpg
String cheese!
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_010.jpg
Oh, oh… Watch out… It’s nacho cheese! In a squeeze bottle, too! This is just too much.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_011.jpg
And finally, cheese pizza!
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_007.jpg
Ok, Ok, enough exciting cheese footage. I don’t want to unload it all on you in one sitting, it’s just too much. Let us check on those hamburgers. Got an action shot going on here.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/4c425ddc.jpg
Preparation time. Have all the essential ingredients here - Mustard, ketchup, buns, burgers, onions, lettuce, and Cheez-Its (See that? I threw a curveball there. The cheese shots prevail.).
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/c12b17b3.jpg
The fruit of my labors.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/744e20be.jpg
Look at the time. Several hours have passed with no pictures taken. Guess this is where the tour ends, for today. If I feel compelled, I may venture outside to show you some good ol’ Wisconsin farms. I know, that means I have to go outside, and away from my backyard. Scary shit.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_042.jpg
FIN.
lol hat. no hat. hat. no hat. hat!
Great pics, TINM!
You know where I like to go for my cheese? Mars Cheese Castle. :p
Holy crappers, I live like 20 minutes away from a Mars Cheese Castle. Good stuff, I must say. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
Indeed 'twas fun. You seem to have a very exciting life.
The food bit was my favourite :D
Man, TINM, that was some good stuff. The detour on the hat was my favorite. Those burgers looked sooooo good. I am hungry now. You bastard. That conversation was good as well. Assfuck.
Yes... Very exciting life, too exciting at times. If you think my house is a blast, you should see the anarchy that goes on throughout the town. It's craziness.
I figured you'd get a kick out of that detour. The burgers were good. Damned good, at that. Asshat.
NO HAT!!! lol
As I said before, thans for tour, n not sharing them burgers :( lol
*Gets up off the floor where she fell onto from laughing holding her belly* Oh...I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. Excellent.
I'm glad you guys got a kick out of it. I might take the camera outside tomorrow and show off the open farmland. Then again, I'm lazy, so I might not.
Hat.
mmmm cheeeese. You sure do have a lot of it.
Nice basement too, i don't have one of them
no hat
Lazy bugger.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_031.jpg
I want...I want.........*insert drool here*.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/Picture_Dump_6-30-04_040.jpg
LOL.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P6300001.jpg
The mighty goatee! Nice.

My friend and I went up to summerfest yesterday. She has a message for you, TINM:
"Cheesehead. Packers suck. Anyone who likes the white sox is an idiot. Wisconcin is the boring-est state on the face of this earth."
lol lol lol
Excuse me while I run really far away from you.
Summerfest, eh? What bands did you see? As for your friend:
Cheesehead, eh? Yeah. Can't argue that. Packers suck? You couldn't be any more right. Da Bears! I'm an idiot for liking the White Sox? Them be fighting words. And finally, no. Wisconsin is AMONG the most boring, but it's not the worst. Try Kentucky. Iowa, too.
Where are you from anyways? If you're from Illinois, I take it you're Cubs fans. In that case, it's into the oven with you two.

Maroon 5 and John Mayer. Parent's treat for my birthday.

CUBBIES RULE!!!!
Illinois isn't exactly on the tope ten list of most exciting states, either. The are as many farms, if not more (I live next to one). The only good thing (for her) is Great America, but I hate rollecoasters.
She's quite blunt, isn't she? *shakes head*
CUBBIES RULE!!!!
Blasphemer! Repent now! I bet you're happy that the MILWAUKEE BREWERS are beating the Cubs in their little face-off. Hopefully they'll win tonight and put those Cubs in their place. I mean, really... The Brewers... How much worse can it get to be a Cubs fan?
Great America is good fun - I was going to get a job there for the summer, but that plan sort of fell apart. Oh well, I enjoy sitting on my ass all day much more.

NEVER!
It can be dissapointing, but we don't care. Besides, it's been three generations of Cubs fans in our family. I ain't breaking it.
LOL. Small world. My aussie mate Amanda is married to one of the Nelson (sp?) brothers who is in the MILWAUKEE BREWERS. I don't know what he does exactly, it's been a while since I've watched the game.
Now Kara, it's never too late to turn from the dark side. Don't let your family stop you. They'll slowly see the light, too.
Really, UT? Small world it is. I only know of one Nelson that's with the Brewers, and that's Brad Nelson. However I'm afraid he's not the right Nelson, as he doesn't have a brother... Only a sister. Perhaps Nelson isn't the guys name? Lol
I have more pictures to add, sitting on my computer right now. I just need to force myself to upload and post them...
EDIT: Brewers just swept the Cubs! Woo hoo, good times!
Nope, sorry.
Besides, I'm a sucker for losing teams. For example, the Anaheim Angels. We've supported them for a loooooooong time. Remeber that movie, "Angels in the Outfield"? My parents were there for the day they tried to film the arm waving scene, except there weren't enough people. And look what happened to them. Won the World Series in 2002. So, no matter what, I'm sticking with the Cubs.
I asume you guys are talking about baseball, being english I wouldn't know. I don't know if any of you has the time but what are the rules of the game, i just don't understand
3 outs per innning, 9 inning games. Each team gets to bat in each inning. Hit the little white ball with the wooden (uncorked) bat and run around the bases. Each time you get BACK to home plate (where you bat) after getting on base, your team gets a run. The object is to score more runs than the other team. The rules are pretty simple, but managing a team is a different monster altogether
Yep, DPD virtually summed up the whole game right there. It's a great sport - Besides football (American football), it's my favorite.

A Taste of Wisconsin: Boredom In Illinois
I snapped a few pictures at my grandma’s house last weekend, so it’s time for another tour. Here we are, in Willowsprings, a suburb of Chicago.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/house2.jpg
As we zoom in, we come upon this house, shrouded in foliage.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/house.jpg
We’ll start out in the backyard, on the deck. You can see the freezing cold pool there. To the left of the pool is a shed. There’s a fire pit in front of the shed, hidden by that blasted tree.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050004.jpg
Down we go, below the deck, as we head for the entrance to the basement.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050022.jpg
Bug zapper next to the door. Not much more to say.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050023.jpg
Now we enter the most kick ass basement I have ever set foot in, with its own bar and all!
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050024.jpg
On the other side of the basement we can spot the two tackiest pieces of decoration to ever be hung on a wall. Really, this kind of stuff should be outlawed. Who has wooden eating utensils hanging next to their doorway, with odd engravings and the whole bit?
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050028.jpg
Back to the bar, the highlight of the basement.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050016.jpg
The neat little display set up behind the bar… Perrrrty.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050029.jpg
Underneath the table, the sink and supply of glasses.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050008.jpg
Now, of course, a bar is nothing with alcohol… Which is scattered all over the house.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050006.jpg
More, older stuff.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050007.jpg
Still more.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050002.jpg
The mythical garbage can that dispenses beer. I think some call it a keg.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050003.jpg
Just another little detour here… Thought you would like to see what happens when you combine a box of matches, a can of WD-40, two bored kids, and an isolated basement.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050018.jpg
It’s coming at you…
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050020.jpg
Look at the concentration in my cousin’s face there… That’s dedication.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050021.jpg
Here we have me trying to put on a depressed alcoholic look. I must say, though, I appear more retarded than drunk… Looks like I have a bug in my cup or something.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050034.jpg
My cousin, trying to sport the same look.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050030.jpg
And so we come to the end of the line. The basement and backyard are really the only areas of my grandparent’s home that matters. Sorry for the crappy tour. I haphazardly took the photos. Hopefully next time will be better. I shall leave you with my cousin and I playing poker. Good day.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7050035.jpg
What a lame tour. It sucked, thoroughly. I did, however, enjoy the flame throwing. Your cousin did look lik he was constipated, and you did look like you were looking to see if you had a bug in your cup. LOL
Thank you for the reassurance. Fire is cool.
Naughty naughty. And I have seen worse tours. Keep em coming....
Thank ye, FYM.

A Taste of Wisconsin: Heights
Here be some pics looking down from the tallest building in the United States: The Sears Tower. I didn't take the shots, my parents did. I wasn't even there, but it's all good.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090028.jpg
As far as the lens can see...
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090023.jpg
Lake side.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090020.jpg
More water... and lots of boats!
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090021.jpg
The Chicago River... I guess. What am I talking about? I have no clue.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090019.jpg
Oooooo, Ahhhh
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090018.jpg
Buildings and a loopy highway.
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090029.jpg
And the last pic, which this tour shall end on. Pretty nifty, eh?
http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v118/ThereIsNoMatrix/P7090022.jpg
If I wanted to see what Chicago looked liked from the Sears Tower, I would've gone there myself. Your tours are lacking... to say the least.
But that's just me.
JK. Not really though. Ok, maybe. Well...
Good, go there yourself then. And while you're visiting, jump off.
Maybe I will. It's called base jumping.
No parachutes allowed. It's against building regulations.

Nope, his name was David Nelson. I'm sure of it. Hang on and lemme check this out more. Damn, the name Brad rings a bell too. Are you sure they're not brothers? As I recall he had a lot of brothers who played major and minor league. They also played for a team here on the Coast called the Daikyo Dolphins. Ok, I've gotta do a search on this or I won't be able to sleep lol.
EDIT: I've found him LOL. Ok I'm old, so sue me. And it was Nillson not Nelson lol.
Here's the Nillson brothers cards from the Daikyo Dolphins.

Yes, that was the Chicago River TINM. I think. :p
Meh. I wanna move to New York.
BTW, do you have pics of Great America? I don't, but that's due to the fact we don't go, even though we're so close. Maybe I'll be adventurous and go down the street today and take some pics.
I sincerely thought I posted here, or am I bugging???
Anyway cool pics, just stop playing with fire because eventually u guys will get burned. Loved the pics from the Sears Tower, seeing them pics reminds me how much I miss the Twin Towers.
Anyhow good pics.
UT: Oohh, Nilsson, I gotcha. Wow, truly is a small world. That's great.
Kara: It is? Goody, I'm right. No pics of Great America... I'll snag some if we go anytime soon, though. Around Halloween time they always have a GIANT spider on their American Eagle ride, and you can see it off of the highway by it. Pretty cool stuff.
Niva: Hmm, you posted on MH, maybe that's what you're thinking of. I've gotten burned, a many times... Thanks for the comments!

You want to know something sad? We named the spiders. The big one's Spot, and the baby's are Spike, Spooky, and Spidey. Creative.
