Skitto A guy who has so far been named Jerry, had been blind from a blow to the head 36 years ago, so he got the first bionic eye. The pic is scary tHe aRcHeItEcT That shit isnt scary its just weird...... ThereIsNoMatrix Looks sorta fake... Like a photoshop image. Eon That is just plain wierd, but hey, I guess if it worked for him, anything would be better than being blind/partially blind. AlmightyOne Originally posted by ThereIsNoMatrix Looks sorta fake... Like a photoshop image. I bet it is seeing as when the photo comes up it is in a paint kinda thing where you can change it if you want. how lame... Skitto It's not fake, it's directly from the Guinness World Records site. It's not fake. UT It's ok Skitto, everyone is entitled to their opinion of what they perceive it to be. :) Actually, it really makes you wonder about the advancements we've had in the last century in science, medicine and tech. Have we advanced as much as we could have? Of course not, however where do you guys think we'd be today if we had redirected our energies on it more? Despite of what funds want you to know, research rarely makes 'real' improvements. Sure, the technology will become a bit more advanced, but the real revolutions are made on accident, by doing something stupid. Also, you can not force people like Einstein, Newton, or Hawking. However, if you look at a timeline, you'll see there is more time between Newton and Einstein than between Einstein and Hawking (and between Hawking and me ;)). Our technology and development of it is going on an accelerated rate. Is this a good thing? I'm not sure, one would have to define happiness and see whether they differ now and in the Dark Ages. Personally, I find it doubtful that all these things have given us happiness. However, that is no reason to stop inventing though. We have discovered much, but there is still much more to discover, and I am positive that at least one of those discoveries will make our lives more pleasant to live :). Mr U tHe aRcHeItEcT Im not really sure though if that guy can see with that eye, I think its like a replacment to him not having an eye..... View Full Version : Scary Bionic Eye |
