Ok spoilers are ahead here so if you did not see the movie, don’t read the post. If you did see the movie, please feel me in, in case I really missed something?
All right, I must say I missed this in the theater and have been waiting a long time to see how everything turns out. After all the first one was ok, great idea, new concept, but the special effects carried the movie. The second movie, my god, I think it was great! One of the very few sequels that turned out better then the orginial was.
So here are my concerns/problems with the last movie, or maybe I missed something? Please educate me so I feel I was not cheated by bad writing, horrible pacing, and so many plot holes that they just covered them up with some dumb cover-ups and weak plot advancements.
Ok here are my troubles and random thoughts:
1. I thought Zion was destroyed at the end of the second movie and Bane helped do it? That is pretty much what I grasp in the end dialogue before “to be concluded” popped on the screen.
2. Is it me or did they just really forget about all the amazing set up from Reloaded? Merovingian was in like one scene and was all seemed to be okay with Monica there, since she was all smiles next to him. Not that I blame him, god she has a nice little rack going on there. And the Architect only about 5 lines that has no meaning other then to try and close up the series. And what is the deal with the Oracle? Seems like she was nothing but a hoax?
3. Why didn’t the Sentinels just swarm all over the place when they entered Zion and flat out kill every one in like 15 mins? What is it with this ice capades in the air twirling around never attacking? Who programmed them? Michelle Kwan?
4. This is just something I wanted to say—I’m glad there were no kissing people back to live or pulling bullets out of bodies in this one. Man that was just lame when that happen.
5. What is up with the little Indian girl? She really have a purpose other then bad writing?
6. What was it with Goko and Vegta fighting in the rain? Oh, never mind, that was not Dragonball Z, that was the end of the movie climax scene.
7. So Neo died and did not kill Smith? It was the computer like doing a power surge in the system? Then off goes Neo dead like King Arthur being towed away to Avalon.
8. So how does Neo suddenly have the power to live in both worlds at the same time? Or is this once again bad writing and a horrible attempt to make a weak plot advancement?
9. So the Merovingian justs lets Neo go? Everyone like good school boys and girls put their guns down and let Trinity go and pick up Neo at the Train Station and run to each other and kiss. This suddenly turn into a romance movie? Is it now called Matrix: Breakfast at Trinity’s?
10. How come the walking robots the humans had only had a small ammo cartridge but could fire about a million rounds before a need to reload?
There are more things and such, but I’ll skip them for right now. Guess I’m really disappointed with this one after the near perfect second movie. And it seemed that everything from that movie was just ignored and forgotten like that movie never happen. Pretty much one can watch Matrix part one, then watch Matrix part three and in all honesty say they watched the Matrix Trilogy.
Maybe it was just Wachowski brothers tried so much that they wrote themselves in a corner and had no way out other then writing some really cheap cover-ups to the plot holes?
i sent you a pm there youll find what your missing.
First of all, welcome to the MatrixMania board. You should find everything you ever needed to know about the matrix by searching through the posts. But you're also welcome to ask any questions you want and we'll try to answer them.
Answers:
1. I thought Zion was destroyed at the end of the second movie and Bane helped do it? That is pretty much what I grasp in the end dialogue before “to be concluded” popped on the screen. Many of us also thought that Zion was destroyed at the end of Reloaded, before any of us saw Revolutions. But what we know now, is that Reloaded and Revolutions are all one entire movie cut into two. The things said by the Architect and the things known to Neo are only all half truths. They are true, but not immediately. They think all hope is lost and so assume that Zion is done for. The military of Zion doesn't act that way, because it's their job to assume the best course of action to win against the machines, if at all possible. But we don't find that out until the battle in Revolutions anyway. Bane is just Smith who was smuggled (Smith smuggled himself) into Zion, and at the end of Reloaded, no one suspects that he's Smith. But because Smith and Neo now share a connection, when Neo is knocked out of his head and into Limbo, Smith does the same, because he's Neo's opposite (we also find all this out in Revolutions). We're not talking real here, we're talking a Science Fiction/Philosophy film, so anything you believe can make sense.
Both Reloded and Revolutions weren't made like other stupid Hollywood movies. They didn't include characters because of how much the audience liked them (which in a way is bullshit...), but they put them in when necessary. The Merovingian and Morpheus couldn't be in every scene, because they weren't that crucial to the storyline. The Mero was actually someone you don't want to run into too much, so you'd try to avoid him unless he's an obstacle you have to pass to progress the fate of the story.
3. Why didn’t the Sentinels just swarm all over the place when they entered Zion and flat out kill every one in like 15 mins? What is it with this ice capades in the air twirling around never attacking? Who programmed them? Michelle Kwan? The sentinels were probably based on something real, because these movies had very big budgets, big enough for them to do any research they needed to to make the special effects for the battle scene. There's a special feature about this on the Revolutions DVD, I have yet to watch it.
4. This is just something I wanted to say—I’m glad there were no kissing people back to live or pulling bullets out of bodies in this one. Man that was just lame when that happen. Can't handle a little kissing?
5. What is up with the little Indian girl? She really have a purpose other then bad writing? We're still debating about the Indian girl's purpose. Some think it's to replace the oracle, I just think it's a byproduct of the storyline, her parents and the Merovingian's connection was more important, because it symbolized sacrifice of a machine with love for it's daughter giving it's daughter away. Neo had to meet Sati in order to realize this to initiate the truce.
6. What was it with Goko and Vegta fighting in the rain? Oh, never mind, that was not Dragonball Z, that was the end of the movie climax scene. It was supposedly a comic fan's ultimate battle scene, I'm not sure. But it's spelled 'Goku' and 'Vegeta'
7. So Neo died and did not kill Smith? It was the computer like doing a power surge in the system? Then off goes Neo dead like King Arthur being towed away to Avalon. Neo killed Smith who had the connection with him by killing himself. He then cancelled out Smith and Smith's purpose, which was to kill Neo.
8. So how does Neo suddenly have the power to live in both worlds at the same time? Or is this once again bad writing and a horrible attempt to make a weak plot advancement? I don't understand the question. Which two worlds and when?
Machines can't lie, if they make a deal with a human they have to go through with it. A temporary truce is called. How long can it last? Only time will tell, or at least the Online game is supposed to.
10. How come the walking robots the humans had only had a small ammo cartridge but could fire about a million rounds before a need to reload? I don't know.
Valasher, everything about your explaination is great except...#1.
If you watch the last hour of Reloaded carefully, Locke is planning a small counterattack when the machines break through a certain point in digging. So he sends about 5 ships to the area to counterattack...But at the end, Captain Roland explains what happened. An EMP was triggered before the machines broke through and the whole counterattack force was disabled. When the machines broke through, they dessimated the crippled attack force and slaughtered everyone but Smith/Bane.
Hope that clears things up for you!
you didnt miss anything. part 3 was hastily slapped together, poorly edited CRAPOLA!!

Man you missed everything, Q8 makes no sense, are you talking about the Mobil ave scene?, and the purpose of Sati was nothing, her father said it, thats why they smuggled her into the matrix so she wouldnt be deleted, it was all just to show that programs can love...overall the movie is great in my opinion........
DNT5, thanks for clearing that up, I think I just misunderstood the question. :)
well to #3
maybe because there were bullets flying around everywhere as well they cant kill anything if they get shot down, they were simply trying not to get shot...just like any person would
and secondy they couldnt just swarm over the whole place when the first entered becuase (if you paid attention) when that first wave of sentinels came in they were being shot the second they came in through that hole
#3:
"They don't know that we don't have an EMP so they're going to have to attack in waves."
If they just all swarmed in at once...BAM!!! EMP!!! 250,000 Sentinels just go down the toilet and the movie's over. No need for Neo to go to the source. Better send someone to go get him!
I really think u need to review wot ure saying on Q8 cos no one seems to understand wot u mean! I f u r talkin bout the mobil ave scene as tHe aRcHiTeCt sed then neo aint in 2 places at once! he is in one place but between the machine world and the matrix. The train station represents the link between the 2 worlds and neo is stuck in the middle due to him seperating his mind from his body by accident while killin the squiddys in m2! People jack in2 the matrix all the time but there bodies are still in the real world just like neos apart from he isnt plugged in with a cable only with his mind. This is sumthing only the one can perform. Hope that helped if thats wot u meant!
View Full Version : Revolutions crap or did I miss something?
