In my free time I always like to imagine what the future would be like the things one would see, new things to experience, so much more to do but best of these is traveing to the stars, looking up at the night sky is humbling forgeting everything else its like you can feel them looking down at you and I just have to go there
space or "the final frontier" really is there are so many things out there to see with your own eyes and not through a telescope the alien civilizations you might encounter be they friendly or hostile meeting any aliens would be an amazing experiance
seeing the birth of a star, finding out what quasars really are taking it to the full extreme, racing through space at near light speed
but seeing as how I am stuck in the 21st century it may stay only a dream, unless I somehow live long enough :D
You want to know how I see the futur, I see it Like the movie A.I. and fifth element.....
future? Do we even have one.......?
I read an article that our civilation evolved (technology) more in the last 100 years than in the last 1000. And that in the last 10 years than the last 100, and the tendency is to continue evolved more and more in that sense.
So don't worry, because our lifetime is well enought time to see a LOT of fascinating stuff, still to happen.
Now, let's just hope Bush doens't schru everything up before time.
ok, this is getting old. Bush this, Bush that. i thought i would bring it up now. im getting tired of reading about scapegoats. sure he is a dumbass, but everyone is sometime. i personally dont like him, but this constant bash is getting to be an eyesore. apparently, Bush can be blamed for everything. i know he did some pretty low things, but you(in general) are repeating history by making a scapegoat. every problem in this world is everyone's problems. you live here, you have to face them. bush most likely wont be president in 2005, so i say quit your whining. some of the things will have lasting effects but that was true about WW I, WW II, Korea, Vietnam and so on and so forth. that is just the way the world is. there is very little you can do about it. to, Oraclitect, you live in portugal, so you get a second hand account of what happens in america. you are not affected by bush to a first degree. so i say to all the bush haters: keep a lid on it, and quit your whining and complaining, you cant do anything about it.
sorry i had to be so blunt.
and back on topic, i see the future as what it looked like in minority report. that looked so cool
The future scares me. Not anything in particular about it, just how things will develop... I get this feeling we're going forward too fast and not looking back enough...
I just thought up of a good question, (not really)
If you had the chance to see your futur would you do it knowing it will destroy all mystery, hope and uncertainty, and if you did where exactly would you look??And another thing would you try and prevent your death if you knew it??......
I simply wouldnt!!.....
Thanks, NMN, for the Bush thing. I'm not a fan of politicians in general, but this constant bashing IS getting old. All he is is a "cheerleader" of sorts, a figure for the American people to look to as a leader. IMO, that's about ALL he is.
OK, back to topic:
I look forward to the future, but fear to see what humans will do to the Earth we've been blessed with. I honestly think we'll be the ones to cause our own destruction because we constantly screw up. It would be nice to know when and how I die, but that's not the first thing I would look for.

OWN! take it easy, man, i didn't even EVER mencioned Bush name in here before today, and i think it as to be mencioned at least two times before being consired a "whinning", don't you think?
Besides, it was intented to be a joke, because that's what he is more than anything here in Portugal, you know? Because, as you said, we get all here in second-hand, and it's the image that passes more throu of him.
I sure didn't intent to offend any political-ones-choices in here, but i'm also untitled to my oppinium, aren't i?
Anyway, there's aproppiate political sites to talk about this, back to the Matrix...

Oraclitect, NMN wasn't saying that you have been constantly bashing Bush. He's mainly refering to the REST OF US who have. NMN, chill, ok?

That's it, i'm quitting this forum for today...
hey MNM, the bad is in your mind, not mine.
I just noted that we we're both boucing from the same 2 topics, and made a little joke about it. Gez!
Peace out
I would not like to know what my future is or how I would die because then I would feel like I was always running out of time to do something with my life.
well I would and I wouldnt want to know what my future was
The reason I would is becauae it would be great to see if any of my "dreams" came true how my life turned out ect. I would definately want to know how, where, when and why I died so I could prevent it, but if i were to say invent something I could invent it earlier leaving even more time to invent even more stuff
Th reason I wouldnt want to know my future is that, its like time travel anything I happen to see in the future may seriously screw up some things I may end up finding out about things I shouldnt have and again that info may end up screwing some stuff up
but I would much rather look into the future of the world on a broad scale see what happens see if the world survives this "age" and makes off the earthg to other planets ect.
but i think looking into the future anywhere is very dangerous because we dont know what the consequences might be

Yes I did it was really good.....
One thing: WIDESCREEN TELEVISION SETS!!! :D
And some more wishful thinking: Double the minimum wage and more taxes for billionaire C.E.O.s, and less raises without raising the other employees salaries on the same sliding scale. Now that is a country to be proud of. Capitalist billionaire pigs...

Are you refering to me??....
That depends... are you an executive in a multibillion dollar corporation or industry?
I think the world we are living in right now is pretty damn exciting. Things are either going to get more fucked up as time passes or a reassertion of the goals of humanity will take us down a different path...
Will it be too late when we all realise that the way we are heading is for disaster?
We can't go around bombing people, invading people, letting corporations swallow competition, designing drugs for the remedy of any personality 'defect', polluting the ocean, mismanaging our waste by simply passing it on to poor countries and giving them some $$, etc, etc, etc...There will come a point when the people in power will have to yield to the power of the people...we don't want a fucked up world! We want peace, health and some originality...
All the demonstrations that are occuring more and more frequently across the WHOLE planet show what the people think...it's time for the big-wigs to listen up...yo.
View Full Version : In love with the future
