aliens

Raj Against The Machine

i think that we were aliens that invade planet earth and took over the planet millions of years ago.

i have a question: if we evolved from apes, why are there still apes on the planet?
Raj Against The Machine

i pushed new topic instead of reply. this is supposed to be a reply to the poll 'how it all began'
Valasher

Because our evolution went one way, and all the species of apes on the planet's went another.
Helios

Exactly we so evolved from one comon distant ancestor but as time went along "different strains" evolved mostly due to climate, what they ate ect. like with cats they all have some distant ancestor no bigger than a housecat but there are now tigers, lions ect. they may look different but their dna is much the same, which is true for basically every species except for maybe crocs :D who were the same 100 million years ago as they are now (besides size)

Could be true, in light of the recent 'water' discoveries on Mars...unless THOSE pics were made in a Hollywood basement as well...

it actually isnt all that recent, pretty much since the sojourner rover landed in 95' they knew there was water in the poles,

but with the gov controlling which pics go out there coud be more like for instance why the hell do they keep sending rovers out into the middle of the martian desert they could have sent one to that formation that looks uncannily like a face, then there is a pyramid like formation, or even the poles send a rover there

I mean come on what else are we gonna learn by sending another rover into the desert

(yes quickly merge this before the topic goes to far off :D )

This is another case of science versus religion....something that truthfully I know little of. If someone else knows a lot about it, then post up. All Im going to say is that some things about Earth, and its history, may be better left alone, then re-awakened. Who knows, if we mess around with it, then maybe if it was true, the aliens would come back, and wipe out humanity.
Helios

personally I think and this is just another one of my weird theories

but i believe there was an actual atlantis and the rulers of this mythical city were the "aliens" since the island had far superior technology of the time these aliens were regarded as gods, this was far before building of pyramids in egypt, something happened the island sank the humans they were previously elnslaved or something of the sort by the aliens, fled the island going in different directions it would explain how 3 great civilizations started at almost the same time (China,Egypt, and the Mayans) and maybe some of this technology survived a battery like thing was found in an egyptian tomb dont believe me look it up, as time wen tby though the people that were originally on the island died and no one knew how to operate the strange machines or how to make more and soon even the kids/teenagers that were on the island grew old and told stories of what they had seen and the little they experienced but their kids and grand children paid little attention, and thus the last survivors with any actual memory of living there died and of those that listened to the elders but becuase they had not been there again few listened and the stories became myth, the technology that was left behind was eventually damaged/destroyed through wars and other such events and all physical evidence thus gone

this theory supports itself quite well and expalins a lot of other stuff too stoneheange, easter island, those huge stone heads sure dont look human at all and one of them weighs at least 4 tons, believe me this theory has no holes :D

tHe aRcHeItEcT, please stop telling the mods how to do their jobs publicly. Just PM them if you have a problem with thread structure. ;)

Back to the topic... it is strange that there are different species of different cats, which all have cat-like attributes living on all the different continents and all being very unique. Evolution is hard to imagine on such a grand scale. Over so much time there are huge numbers of different types of cats, and any other what is it... Genus. King George, something or other, no King Philip. King Philip Came Over For Green Spaghetti, so it's Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, F?, Genus, Species. And that we can even have a tree like that is amazing. But it's the patterns in life that speak the most truth, because patterns are everywhere, in everything when you look hard enough. I'm no wise man, but this is what I believe in at the moment.

Family, Val, Family

I remembered it as Kung Pao Chicken Over Fried Glazed Shrimp...yes I made that up when I was in grade school. No, don't laugh.
Ou Be Low hoo

I'm stupid and I have no idea what you 2 are going on about...some sort of anagram?

I agree with you about the patterns in life, Valasher...Big Elephants Can't Always Use Small Entrances I always see everything as having a cyclic nature as I'm quite interested in Taoism.

I think Mr 'Archeitect'(sic.) is getting sad that his thread is dead...this is a different thread to the 'How it all began one...'

Ever heard of Pascales triangle, that thing is amazing the patters in that thing are endless literally if you continue it that long though but even if you go only up to line 100 there are thousands of little patters
Ou Be Low hoo

Yeah, as boring as Math classes in school were, I always found Pascales Triangle pretty interesting...along with Pi and The Golden Ratio...don't think about it too hard though, or you'll end up drilling a hole in your head.

Hmm, I guess Im too late on that one. Although I never really hated math, its always there to somewhat annoy me.

Kingdom is the Plant and Animal kingdoms. Species is the last classification, like we are homo sapiens. The in between ones are other classifications, mostly in Latin... I think I learned that in 5th grade, but I think there may be one more kingdom, I can't remember.

there are actually 5 kingdoms, Val. Animal, plant, fungi, protista, and monera. The protists & monera are mostly unicellular critters, so are unfamiliar and/or easy to forget for many people. :)
Omega Ascendant

we evolve from apes becoz we have mutated genes...hence a differnt result...that is we become a new species...humans!!!!!!

That's right. And viruses are nowhere to be found, because we can't exactly classify them as living organisms, but we also can't classify them as dead. They need their own separate classification outside of the actual living organisms.
HomoUniversalis

But than, Valasher, what is death? 21 grams? Rather amusing number considering 42 is the answer to everything.

Tempest, it differs from Biological approach. I for example could create a system in which I put humanoids, and non-humanoids. Classes are just to be as complete as possible. Personally, I think I learned Biology without the latter you mentioned.

Ou Be Low Hoo, Pi really get's interesting when you considerer that the sequence goes one infinitely, which I can not comprehend. The same goes for e and i. Or the famous 5 absolutes:

e^(Pi*i)+1=0. Math becomes interesting when everything comes together. Anyhow, I have no idea how that rule is possible, although I have calculated it once, but I had to use the cosinus + sinus rule...

How it all began? Well, the theory of aliens is a rather amusing one. In fact, the bible does mention taller beings (almost Giants) who walked the earth. The Maya's spoke of a large bearded individual, so there are a lot of strange things going on. Each and everyone can be disected though.
I have difficulties imagining that a species would come to earth (which was at first inhospitable, due to SO2) and create life here, and than vanish just like that.
Atlantis, I find that hard to believe. Plato just spoke of an advanced island within an island, and basicly, there is no way of telling how long that rumour had been spreading, after all, Atlantis was destroyed long before plato.

Personally, I like to go for Discovery Channel's approach. The breakout of a large volcano on the island where Atlantis was. For one, it makes sense, since and island within an island is possible, and since the ground is furtile, people could develop other stuff. In any case, it blew up, and a really big tidal wave spread across the sea, note that when a tital wave hit's the coast, the water draws back. At this point, Mozes and his slaves run accross, Egyptians follow and are consumed by the tidal wave.
It would also explain the clouds of ashes Mozes unleashed onto Egypt, and Locust swarms happen ever so often.

That's the problem with history, if you disect it close enough, you can form your own provably theory out of it. That's why I keep my nose forward, so we can colonise a planet soon ;).

Raj Against The Machine

thats a cool explanation for atlantis and moses partin the sea.
