The Bible code

have any of you heard of the bible code. when the bible is written in hebrew you can select certain letters to tell the future. but the only thing is that it only works when you use a computer program to select the different letters. its freaky. it predicted the Gulf war 3 weeks before it started and it has predicted an nuclear holacaust in 2006. Freaky!

I've heard a lot about this but frankly I'm not that impressed. The Hebrew language doesn't have vowels so it's easier for words to form when letters are selected randomly, but the thing is, THEYRE SELCTED RANDOMLY!
If there were some sort of process that all of these "revealations" went through I'd have taken it more seriously, but the fact is, you could probably get any statement you'd want to get out of the bible, and usually we hear of these
"revealations" AFTER the events happen.
My guess is that it "predicted" a million different things and occasionally they got something right. I've never heard of this gulf war thing but my guess it probably wasn't too difficult a thing to predict at the time (plus the prediction itself was most likely in extremely vague terms)...

some of these same numbers appear on the Great Pyramid in egypt but the selection is a lot less "random", there's a lot more secrecy behind that pyramid too though, one is how they alligned it so that each corner points to one of the cardinal directions perfectly down to the degree

i'm reading this book called the bible code by michael Drosnin and he found the name of the israeli prime minister, yitzhak rabin, in the bible code (each letter was underneath the other) and it is the only time that his name is found in the bible. also interlocking the name it said assasin who will assinate. Michael was a friend of the prime minister and warned him but he didn't listen. a year later he was assinated by a man called Amir who's mname is also found near Yitzhak's name. how do yau explain that.

This was a very famous case of Bible code. I don't know a lot about the general subject, but I remember specifically about this case not being impressed. I remember it being mainly based on one word and even at the time (I was pretty young) finding it a bit of a stretch...
Could you give us any detalis maybe? A link to somewhere with an important chapter?

The book was based on Yitzhak Rabin, but they did mention Saddam Hussein and WWII.
