Great people can accomplish great things in life that can live on in people's memories forever, however you can only accomplish greatly if you have dreams, dreams come from wide imaginations, and I belive everybody on this site has a good imagination if they can like the matrix...
So most of you here have great potential to acheive your goals, and to leave a greate accomplishment in peoples memories forever.....
so if any of you have already been able to do so, tells us about it and give us hope...
My dream is to create a simulation program similair to the matrix....
my dream is to design and build the fastest jet/airplane or a human ocupied spaceship that will get us farther than the moon or mars
My dream is to conquer the world, create a Utopia, and fund research to advanced physics so we can learn how to fold space, and exceed the speed of light.

I don't think anyone can do or create something that will live on in peoples minds forever. Take the guy who created light for example. Hundreds of years from now, do you think anyone will remember his name? It has already been killed from my memory. Do you actually think, hundreds of years from now, your name will be remebered?
Not the One, AnotherOne
the guy who created light?*Shakes head* never mind, I want be the first president of the United Cakes (and pies) of America club.

I'm sure you mean electricity and that person was Jefferson, and he didnt invent it, and yes depending on what yopu accomplish you may be remembered for hundreds of years, say one of the spaceships I design can travel faster than light or instantaneous travel, I'm pretty sure such a leap of brillance like that would be remebered for hundreds and hundreds maybe even a thousand or two thousand years after all dont we still remember who built the pyramids over 4-5 thousand years ago the egyptians of course we dont remember the exact person who first came up with the idea but back in that time when stuff wasnt documented well its not possible, In this digital age we are in now things will be remebered or at least recorded

I know who inveted electricity and light. I was trying to make a point. Sooner or later (in many years to come) his name will be forgoten. And thank you for proving my point. "Recap"- whose idea was to make the pyramids? His name was forgoten. Just like everyone else will be.

Sure, very few people are actually significant, but people like Einstein will never be forgotten, unless our people die. Plato lived a long time ago, and yet we remember him.
This is a virtue writing has brought us, and I'm confident that people like Plato will not be forgotten... History may not be accurate, but that doesn't mean we should forget it...
Anyhow, as said before digitalisation means everything is easily recorded, and safe from any damage (fires, et cetera)..
So start inventing, I'm sure you'll be remembered ;)

EDISON invented the light bulb. I'm sure that's what u guys were getting at, since Thomas Jefferson sounds a lot like Thomas Edison. Warning to stupid people: do not believe anything you read! (and before we even get started, no I'm not calling anyone who has posted here stupid)
lol my dream is to have super powers (like superman or stuff like from dbz)
and mabey i'll destroy the world then
"I have a dream that one day this WORLD will rise up and make true meaning of it's creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
My dream is to live life for the moment, and if anything I do is remembered, big whoop. The people will remember what I did, not who I was.

Created equal? Is it not such a greater dream to hope for all men to be equal? For what is the difference between people? How do they differ, they all live and die, despite of what materialistic possesions they may have. What makes one person differ from the other, Ou Be Low Hoo?

Oh dear...I'm not even going to respond to this...Although it seems 'self-evident' that I have already done so, eh what!? Oh **** it...I'll indulge you...The implication of MLK's speech about being 'created' equal, is that a natural progression from this creation is that we ARE INDEED EQUAL! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

you are quite right alfie
snf jefferson was not the one who stumbled on the idea of electricity, that was benjamin franklin
and inventors wont die as long as we keep their legacy alive. pyramids are no longer important, as the inventor, but light bulbs are, and there is a company where i live that is called edison
but to answer the thread's question, i would like to lead an expedition out of the solar system (if at all feasible)
I would really like to invent something really light that you could wear and fly around for as long as you wanted.....

Why do you always try and compete with me HU?? :p
I dont know if I want to "conquer" the world, but I want to be apart of the founding of this utopia, I belive it can be created.. anyone read the book "Brave New World" it's an excellent book, although it is not seen as a utopia, more of a 'distopia'
It shows insight of how utopia's can not always provide or meet the needs for all it's people within the utopia, in which I plan to try and accomplish in my utopia.. and if HU beats me and I end up living in his utopia, I will sabotage it.. haha, joking.
View Full Version : A great accomplishment?
