Matrix Online vs Middle Earth Online

I can't decide which online game to get. I love both trilogies and I don't think I would have the time for both or money for that matter. What do you guys think of Middle Earth online?

Well, aren't you tired of those medieval-phantom-magicry? I fear that ME will be more of the same. MxO is going to be an mmorpg not based in the past or in space, but actually in a real city, with real players. I would go for MxO for sure! Imagine cruising around in a car with some friends, stop by a building, hack (or superjump to the roof) yourself in, do your mission, get a call that an agent is closing in, hurry up, complete mission, run from the agent, over rooftops or in a car and when it's all over find yourself sitting on the edge of your chair. Sounds more fun to me than killing an orc or something, but that's how I see things.

Yep, I have a feeling Middle Earth would be somewhat like Everquest. The Matrix Online sounds different from any other MMORPG. For one thing, no orcs! I'm getting a little bored just fighting them again and again.

Plus, in Middle-earth online there will be almost no story development. You'll just fight more orcs, because "They are about to destroy Minas-Tirith!" or something. However, if you die fighting them, the city will never fall, because it is impossible in the storyline of J.R.R Tolkien. Which leads to a very difficult, and boring story development.

However, in the Matrix Online, it is very possible for parts of the city to be dominated by one side, and the other part of the city to be dominated by the other side.

I think this creates very dynamic situations, allowing for many possibilities. One of them being Urban warfare, infiltrating the enemy, planting a bomb, and get the hell out of there. Or why not make a major breach between two skyscrapers, in which your snipers can take out the enemy?

Because TMO allows for player versus player, it will be a lot more interesting, even after weeks, months, perhaps even years of playing, because it allows for various strategies, combat evolvement (many styles and arts, and you just keep gettin better!), I think the choice is easy:

"The Matrix Online"

yeah matrix on-line is going to be way more better and more fun/interesting then middle earth

I still don't know I like Middle-Earth just as much if not more than the Matrix.

well in matrix on-line you won't have to fight the same person(s) over and over again. of course you need to raise your skill and strenght lvl to become stronger so you can fight stronger enemy's and win.
but in matrix online you can do alot more.
like the others said in middle earth it will be mostly killing orcs.

middle earth online 50%

Well there is more than just fighting orcs, you can make weapons and such.

yes you mabey can do more then just fighting in middle earth. but still the main enemy you fight are orcs.

If you know anything about Middle Earth you would know that there is more than just orcs.

Yeah, you can also fight trolls and Wargs, however, I'm pretty sure they will throw in a Balrog once in a while, which is, of course, nonsense, since Balrogs are incredibly powerful magical beings of the same race as Gandalf, maia.

Let's not forget that Gandalf was not only a servant of Eru (god), but was also carrier of the Ring of Fire, and was also the most powerful sorcerer in Middle-Earth (leaving out Sauron of course).

But I'm sure a normal warrior can easily match a Balrog...

Well agents are extremely powerfull and I bet somewhere down the road you'll be able to take one of them down. Plus, how many different enemies are gonna be in this game besides other players and agents?

Dude, you say you can't decide, but every time somebody gives a good argument about MxO, you start saying that MEO is as good or better. Believe me, maybe you aren't aware of it, but you've already chosen MEO.

a wise thing to say. yes everytime a other user say's that matrix online is better. he defends middle earth. thus in a way he already choosed middle earth :p

It seems he's just trying to get a full view of the benefits of both sides. Since this IS a Matrix site, the argument will obviously be weighted on the side of MxO. By his constant arguing for MEO, it just gets Matrix fans to give more proof for why he should go for MxO.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the whole LOTR trilogy (heck, I just saw the second one last weekend for the first time). So, I'd go for MxO. That, and MxO seems like it will break the mold for online games more than MEO.

Then again, I don't know much about MEO. STill, IMHO, Matrix will rock way more!

haven't seen return of the king yet. but i did see the first 2 movies.
i didn't realy like part 1, i founded it boring. part 2 whas alot better and the fights where cool.

but i think matrix online wil give much more 'fun' then middle earth
