American Idol

I don't think there has been a thread about this yet. So, who has watched Season 3 of American Idol thus far. I myself have had the pleasure of viewing it and now i would like to widthdraw the pleasure part. Some and maybe 4/7 of them were good, but now it isn't a fact of people who think they can sing. They just want to be on TV. Its getting so pathetic. Anyone else want to share their opinion?

After watching one episode (LA/San Francisco) of it because someone that I know knew someone who was on it, I've decided that it shouldn't be on TV. Simon sucks, the other guy sucks, very few of the people who get put through can actually sing. I've also decided to start my own Idol. It won't be for singing, I'm not sure what it will be all about; all I know is that I'd be a lot better at the judging than Simon. I could assemble a crack panel of judges who would make the current ones look like idiots, not that that would be difficult. So it has begun.

i'm really getting sick of American idol,World Idol and the other five idol shows, its just plain annoying like the rest of those crack-pot "reality" tv shows tv should go back the way it used to be, and ones like the bachelor and bachelorette, who cares it makes no sense just watch a soap opera, and you have the same thing
and survivor no one is really surviving, the only way you survive is hoping you dont get voted off the island

let me stop this was about American idol and ive begun to tell my dispise of reality tv

i agree with Helios, TV reality shows r crap, American Idol is crap.
My Family has watched the first 2 episodes its been on here in aus and about 10 of the 100's were actually good. and suks for the ppl who r auditioning, when Simon and the other guy r there theres only a 50% chance to get in. I even saw once were simon was the only one judging. theres no way anyone would get in with him as the only judge on the panel.

My life goal: go on American Idol and sing "Macarena" complete with dance.

i think by far, my favorite one (besides the she bang chinese dude) was the woman in new york who tried singing route 66 using skat like ella fitzgerald and then she just let out a huge sream at the end and randy is like "oh god!"

I wonder why people find enjoyment in others making jackasses of themselves.

because for most (including me) people find humor in other's discomfort, like if homer from the simpsons gets his hand cut off in a acccident thats just hilarious, but if it happened to me id be a little freaked out

That wasn't an answer to my question, you just reworded it. It makes no sense that in most cases (unless it's someone we care for) we show no sympathy. I find it odd, not saying I don't like laughing at others

its human nature we just dont care enough for our fellow man to show sympathy to total strangers

Good point. But define total stranger. I don't know you that well Helios. All I know is that you like the Matrix and are a pyromaniac. I may show sympathy for you, but you are a stranger to me.

i would define a total stranger as someone to whom i have never talked to, seen before or had any contct with the second i dont really apply, like there are many peolle on this site that i do not consider starngers

but then what i consider a stranger or not, is a lot different from others

I think that if I were to go to the first auditions I would probably make it to round 2, but I don't have the Kelly Clarkson 'pop' voice, so I definitely wouldn't win it. I like to sing more jazzy tunes and my voice sounds too much like Sarah Maclaghlan to every win a teen idol contest. But I do enjoy watching the auditions, and the contest, I just stopped voting in season two after I realized that it's all a sham and I think the producers pick who they want. Not to mention Rueben's family calling and voting for him all night long and every one of those votes counted. ;)

One of my better hobbies is singing. If I really tried, I believe I could be in the top 6.

Not The Amazing Race though. That's the only reality show worth watching for me.
