how do you get a picture or become a moderator

if any one can help out a noob, please let me know how you can get a picture or become a moderator.

To be a moderator, at least, for me, I believe you have to see the Matrix about 80 to 100 times. Prove your loyalty to the film by saving everything you can find, that pertains to the matrix, and most of all have the ability to help when needed, and make sense when posting. I also believe that helping users readily who need it, when ever, and however they need the help, also being around a while helps. I got lucky because I told Luc that I could help out at any moment in time, which is very true, except for the times when I'm not online. *Which happens to be rarely ever.. * Knowing your stuff about the Matrix is a huge one.. Oh, and another thing.. don't ask how to become a moderator.. Luc, I, Wildcard, and Tom, are actually watching you very closely ( picture 4 guys standing over the Matrix code day in and day out.. ) for signs of loyalty and stuff to this site, if you don't ask, you'll be noticed more frequently than if you do ask.

And unfortunately, all current mod positions are filled, and prior applicants are being looked at for the positions that we may have opening soon. Sorry.

Second; how to get an avatar.

1st and Foremost, you do not take other peoples avatars, unless its one of the default ones on the site, if its a custom one like the one you see on the side of my posts, you do not take it. You will be warned, and if you don't change it you will eather have it changed for you or something else will occur. ( Don't ask. )

2nd to get an avatar, you have to post, the more you post, the more avatars you choose from. This is the way we know that you are a loyal user, and come back to the site. To get your avatar: Goto your USER CP ( Control Panel ) up top, and do Edit Options, after that down near the bottom you should see something that says: Edit Avatar. Follow the instructions there, Avatars can only be 64 by 64 pixels, I cannot remember size restrictions, but I don't think we have limitations on that.

See, I don't know much about the Matrix, but he let me buy a position as a Mod. :D

No, kidding. I used to think I knew everything about M1 until I came around here.

As for being a mod, it's not that fun. I read posts now to make sure everything is kosher instead of reading for fun.

But this group of posters is incredibly smart and polite. It's a nice change compared to some web groups out there. So it's not that much work.

Aim for an avatar, and maybe, maybe someday a mod position will open up.

Yeah, I've got to admit, and (not to seem prideful, or boasting), I think the mods here really got a nice group of people to work with. You should see some of the other boards I've been.... Total disaster, but certainly not the faults of the mods.

The problem comes when a mod has to make a 'judgement' call.... It will aride here too, eventually. Some people disagree with this mod. Sometimes even other mods disagree with this particular one. This starts to erode the faith people have in the 'powers that be.' So the one word of advice (or paragraph anyway) that I can give you (if I may be so bold), is:

Stick together as mods, no matter what. Work out differences of opinion in private, then if it is decided that something was done wrong, the mod that did the wrong place should be the one to correct it. This shows that he can also be humble.

Sorry for (obviously) intruding on your territory (and I'm definitely not suggesting that you guys wouldn't be able to handle it, or might not know what I have said), but I thought I'd share some experiences from watching other boards.

Nah, Archangel, we're not going to shoot you or ban you, we're just going to give you a hankie to wipe that brown stuff off your nose. ;)

And mostly, we do work together, theres only one flaw, WC doesn't have AIM so it makes it kinda hard to communicate with him. (Even though he should try aim express at www.aim.com.)


We do try to work everything else and if a dispute does occur between a user and a mod, most altercations are delt with a simple delete and a feeding of the user to you other users. ;)
