User Count Quessing Thread

So, how many registered user do you think this forum will have when matrix reloaded comes out 15.5.

My quess is around 50...

I say 50 by the end of the day today. It's 12:30 PM right now
(server time is a little ahead). I say by the time movie comes
out we'll have 500+ :)

I think it officially started 04/24/03. Luc might correct me if I am wrong.

Eric is correct (as always). 4/24/2003 is the the birth date of
this baby.

It has grown faster than I had anticipated. I figured
500 members by the time the movie starts, but from the looks
of it we might get double that if not more.

do you think the amount of active members will decline after the hype is over?

it depends. if the movie is any good I think traffic will actually
go up. since it looks pretty damn good, well, I won't get
ahead of myself...

If it's like movie forums I have been in the past, you'll see a HUGE influx of visitors and posters after the movie release.

I am thinking Warner might rerelease M2 in November to give people a chance to rewatch (and repay for) the movie in the theater. That is, if the wave M2 creates ceases by then, which I think the popularity of the movie might mean theaters keep a showing of M2 going through then.

But typically July is an awesome month for movies and normal movies would be pushed out of the theater to make room for the new hot movie.

We will see how this works out.

You know I have joined a lot of boards over the years and dont think I have ever seen one grow as fast as this one has... I belong to gaming groups too and one of them is just over a yr old... they just now have 900 members... it blows my mind to see all the people that have came into this one this fast! Well Done Luc!

Well, Luc, I plan on sticking around for quite a while, you guys seem like nice - mature - people that i dont mind spending time with, i just hope that : 1. Luc and the other administrators can continue to moniter this site as well as they have, and 2. that the current and futrue members keep what they post clean. Im a 17 yr old christian male that doesnt need any more of the junk that he sees in school (i.e. porn, horendious language, ect.). thanks for granting my wish.

i'd like to make it clear that this community couldn't be
where it is today if it wasn't for the help from my moderatos
(eric, tom, andrew). these guys have worked their butts off
to keep this forum clean and constantly gave me ideas to
improve it. i thank you guys!

Well, I just felt like reviving this old thread because I was bored and it was kind of cool seeing what the "big discussion" in the lounge was when this place was started. Interesting to see the guesses hitting 1000 for the expected # of members. As of right now, there are 13,206 registered members :D

I expect when the revolutions dvd is a few weeks from coming out there will be a rejuvinated interest

I don't know if it'll get much more traffic once M3 comes out, since the domain name isn't www.matrixreloaded.com anymore :( Perhaps we'll have a revival of good discussion, though.

I don't know what happened with them all. Fun to read what their excitement for the few weeks before M2 came out :)

matrix revolutions will come out here (on dvd and video) april the first. ( 1 april)
